Food allergies

Have experienced swelling redness, and itching after eating delicious food? Or even to feel the tightness? If so, chances are you have a food allergy. Although the number of events a little, but food allergies should also be considered because its effects may lead to fatality. Food allergy is an abnormal response to a food triggered by the immune system. Allergic reactions that occur can cause a serious incident.

Mechanisms of Food Allergy
Immunological reactions of the body affects the incidence of food allergies. This reaction involves the immune globulin, a protein that helps the body's immune response, rather Imonuglobulin E (IgE) that make up the body's immune response. Immune responses that appear in allergic reactions through two stages, namely the allergen sensitization phase and elicitation phase.

Sensitization phase
Sensitization stage occurs when the body produces specific IgE antibodies. Sensitization phase is also called the induction phase, a first contact with the allergen (ie when eating food allergens).

Elicitation Phase
Elicitation phase occurs when there is repeated exposure. When exposed to food (allergen) is the same, the protein will bind to molecules in the cell mediators (basophils and mast cells cells). This elicitation phase causes the body to secrete molecules that cause inflammation (such as leukotrienes and histamine). Effects that arise as well as the severity of the allergy is influenced by the concentration and type of allergen, route of exposure, and organ systems involved (eg, skin, gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, and blood).

Causes of Food Allergies
In adults, the foods most likely to cause an allergic reaction to foods that come from the sea, such as shrimp, lobster, crab. In addition to seafood, nuts also cause allergies in some people. Other foods that commonly cause allergic reactions, namely fish and eggs.

Pea is one food that can cause anaphylactic reactions. To someone who is highly allergic. Small amounts of allergens can cause allergic reactions. In a person who is less sensitive, could tolerate a small amount of food that can cause allergies.
In children, the cause of most common food allergies are eggs, milk, nuts, and fruits. Sometimes allergies will disappear in children, but allergies tend to persist in adults. In addition, more common in children allergic to cow's milk or soy milk than allergic to peanuts, fish, or shrimp. Adults and children tend to have allergic reactions to foods are often consumed. For example, people in Japan are allergic to rice, and in Scandinavia allergy to codfish are found compared to other places.

Symptoms of Allergies to Food
Skin
Allergic reactions to foods most up-to-skin. Red bumps, very itchy, and swollen. Even sometimes appear in groups and out quickly.Bumps on the skin may appear alone or be accompanied by other allergic symptoms. Atopic dermatitis or eczema, a skin condition characterized by itchy, betsisik, redness, can also be triggered by food allergies. These reactions generally are chronic and appear in someone who has had a family history of allergies or asthma.AirwayAsthma symptoms such as cough, breath sounds, or difficulty breathing, due to the narrowing of the channel pernapasam, can be triggered by allergies to food, especially in infants and children.Gastrointestinal tractSymptoms of food allergy affecting the gastrointestinal tract include vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, sometimes reddish rash around the mouth. In addition, it can also occur itching and swelling around the mouth and throat, abdominal pain, and a lot of gas.
Other reactions to foodsWhereas other reactions related to food is food intolerance (such as lactose intolerance, milk intolerance), food poisoning, and poisoning the reaction is not a reaction of the immune response. The prevalence of food allergy was lower than the side reactions / side effects from food. Food allergy is estimated to arise as much as 2-5% of the population.
In infants, non-allergic reaction, usually a temporary reaction to some foods, especially fruits, are common. For example, there is a rash around the mouth caused by a natural acid in tomatoes and oranges, or diarrhea due to sugar in fruit juice or other foods that come in several times. Other reactions are allergic reactions, and can be caused by foods that cause allergies when eaten again.Along with growth, some children may tolerate foods that previously was the cause of allergies.
